Legacy ER & Urgent Care, an Intuitive Health company, offers both Emergency Room and Urgent Care services and operates multiple locations in DFW, delivering high-quality, compassionate care that is convenient, efficient, and patient-focused.

The Registered Nurse will be clinically competent while delivering care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. RNs will interact with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. This includes, but is not limited to: patient assessment, therapeutic treatment as ordered by the physician, laboratory testing, and patient discharge and education.

• Provide patients and their families with a customer-focused, friendly, reassuring, and open environment that encourages participation in health care decisions.
• Assist in patient care to the extent that training and education allow, including duties within the scope of practice.

• Use the nursing process with appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s care, as evidenced by client/staff observation.
• Assess the patient: collect and document health status and medical history; review Admission Data Record as defined by policy; maintain ongoing assessment and respond appropriately.
• Plan/implement: set priorities for nursing action, formulate a care plan, and include education and discharge planning; provide age-specific education.
• Evaluate: perform ongoing assessment and revise the plan based on new data and condition.
• Document accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status in paper and electronic formats; maintain required documentation.
• Assist the physician on duty in examination and treatment; communicate patient needs and nursing assessments daily or as needed.
• Collect specimens and conduct laboratory tests; review and uphold lab policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other nurses and health team members; support team efforts; teach health information to patients and families; provide timely care and follow policies and procedures.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care, including therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, per policies and standards.
• Execute physician orders, including administration of medications, treatments, and IVs; observe and document patient responses.
• Demonstrate skill in emergency situations; provide personal patient care to address physiological and psychological needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of clinical areas; ensure supplies and equipment are organized and accessible.
• Maintain all required professional certifications and licenses; participate in facility certifications and CEU.
• Adhere to administrative policies; comply with safety regulations; attend mandatory skill updates and staff meetings.

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor to other positions in the department.
• Exposure to viruses, diseases, and infection from patients and specimens; may involve extended periods at a video display terminal and handling traumatic situations.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting; shifts may rotate based on operational needs.
