Job Summary And Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, emphasizing the critically ill patient with Congenital Heart Disease and/or Surgery. Organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care. The plan will be individualized, family‑centered, and holistic. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Participate in CHSU initiatives and process improvement. Provide high‑quality age‑specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population.

What Qualifications You Will Need
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or a compact license is required.
  • CCRN preferred.
  • Congenital Heart experience and/or high‑acuity PICU experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year PICU or CHSU RN experience.
