Job DescriptionThe Director, Total Rewards North America will lead our compensation and benefits programs for our North American operations. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that we attract, retain and motivate top talent through competitive and equitable compensation and benefits practices that are aligned with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the North American market (US and Canada), strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in compensation and benefits management.
Responsibility will include oversight of salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and enhances employee engagement. Leverage the global benefits strategy to execute within assigned market.
- Market Analysis: Conduct regular benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure our compensation and benefits offerings are competitive within the industry and market.
- Policy Oversight: Develop, review, and update compensation and benefits policies and programs to ensure compliance with legal standards and alignment with best practices.
- Collaboration: Partner with HR leadership, finance, and senior management to align compensation and benefits strategies with business goals and workforce planning.
- Program Management: Oversee the design and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and benefits offerings that drive performance and satisfaction.
- Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to assess the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs, making recommendations for improvements based on findings.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of total rewards professionals supporting North America, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Employee Communication: Develop effective communication strategies to ensure employees are informed and engaged with their compensation and benefits programs.
- Budget Management: Manage the compensation budget and ensure programs are cost‑effective.
- Performance Management: Collaborate with HR and management to align compensation with performance management initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a large organization.
