Application Architect

Gavin Heath is partnering with a client in the Coppell, TXarea looking to add an Application Architect to their team. This role combines practical development responsibilities with strategic solution architecture, focusing primarily on hands-on application design, development, and delivery, while providing guidance on broader solution architecture.

• Lead design, development, and delivery of highly available, scalable, and maintainable applications across web, mobile, and emerging technologies.
• Serve as a hands-on full-stack C# developer using Microsoft technologies including .Net Core, .Net Framework, Web API, ASP.Net, MVC, and related frameworks.
• Develop and maintain clean, testable, and high-quality code; create unit tests and enforce coding best practices.
• Create and present technical roadmaps and solution designs to stakeholders and development teams.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements while maintaining a security-first mindset.
• Mentor and lead team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and a "get things done” attitude.
• Evaluate new technologies and frameworks, making recommendations to improve system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Apply Solution Architect principles to design end-to-end systems, integrating across multiple platforms and services, while remaining actively involved in development.
• Work in Agile environments, utilizing Dev Ops practices and cloud-based platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) for CI/CD and deployments.

• 8-10 years of software development experience with hands-on technical leadership.
• 2+ years of experience developing technical roadmaps and presenting architectural solutions.
• Strong experience with full-stack C# development, Web API, and front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js or other JavaScript frameworks).
• Deep relational database expertise (SQL Server), including writing queries, stored procedures, DDL, and performance tuning.
• Experience with web services, SOA, ETL, XML/XSL, and both relational and No
  
  SQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills with creativity, initiative, and customer focus.
• Experience leading teams to deliver complex, scalable, and highly available solutions.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills.
• Security-first mindset and understanding of best practices for protecting sensitive data.
• Experience with Octopus Deploy, Power Shell, and emerging front-end technologies.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native development, particularly on Microsoft Azure including Git Hub Enterprise and Git Actions.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, microservices architecture, and modern Dev Ops practices.
