Registered Nurse - Copiague

Summary

A Registered Nurse renders professional nursing care to patients, within an assigned unit or authorized community health center site, in support of medical care as directed by the medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Sun River Community Health. In addition, this position will perform duties assigned on an as needed basis.

Full Time

$45.00/hr to $52.10/hr

• Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing care regimens for clients.
• Plans, coordinates and assesses client care.
• Identifies client needs and provides direct nursing care based on the client’s care plan.
• Documents client care with accurate and accessible records.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement and evaluate client care.
• Functions as preceptor to students, new hire candidates and other clinical team members when needed.
• Administers prescribed medication to clients and keeps accurate records of all medication administered in accordance with law and Sun River Health policies and procedures.
• Utilizes standing orders in accordance with Sun River Health policies and procedures.
• Communicates with Pharmacy, Laboratories and other vendors as needed.
• Assists with medication refills per Sun River Health protocols.
• Maintains professional competence through participation in staff development and educational programs.
• Provides clinical education and counseling to patients for health promotion and disease prevention to improve health outcomes.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required)
• New York State Registered Nurse License (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification (Required)
