We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Integration Services team. This team is responsible for building and maintaining the core integration points between Aiven and our cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and other critical third-party services.
What you will do:- Design, develop, and maintain high-scale, highly-reliable services that manage the integration lifecycle for Aiven customers.
- Drive technical strategy and roadmap for the Integration Services domain, ensuring alignment with overall company architecture goals.
- Mentor and guide other engineers on best practices for distributed systems, reliability, and security in cloud environments.
- Lead complex technical investigations, debugging, and resolution of production issues across our infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Cloud Operations, and other Engineering teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Contribute to the definition and enforcement of engineering standards and quality gates across the organization.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant experience in designing and operating large-scale, distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider's ecosystem (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and experience integrating complex software systems within them.
- Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or another relevant backend language.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex technical areas, drive projects independently, and influence technical direction across teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating technical concepts to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- A commitment to operational excellence, monitoring, and SRE practices.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers (like Kafka).
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards relevant to cloud infrastructure.
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects.
