Procurement Department

The Procurement team is responsible for securing the equipment Vantage’s data centers require to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way. Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget.

Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Description

This role can be based remotely in the US and will require up to 30% travel. #LI-Remote

As an Inventory Manager, you will oversee the inventory operations, ensuring accurate inventory levels, efficient inventory management, and timely replenishment. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Essential Job Functions

Inventory Control and Management

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.

  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.

  • Manage and maintain inventory records, including tracking and reporting on inventory metrics.

  • Identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies or issues.

Supplier Coordination

  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.

  • Negotiate terms and manage supplier relationships.

  • Implement and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to streamline inventory processes and improve efficiency.

Inventory Audits and Reporting

  • Conduct regular inventory audits to verify stock levels.

  • Prepare and present detailed inventory reports to management.

  • Collaborate with Commercial Risk Management and the Controller to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with inventory.

Demand Forecasting

  • Collaborate with the procurement and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and plan for future demand.

System and Process Improvement

  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures.

  • Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Inventory Warehouse Management and Transportation Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient warehouse management and transportation logistics.

  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to improve inventory accessibility and reduce handling time.

  • Coordinate transportation logistics to ensure timely delivery of inventory to various locations.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 7 – 10 years as an Inventory Manager or similar role.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Experience with specific inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 30% but may increase over time as the business evolves
