What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

• Supervise and manage a team of 5–10 Oncology Data Specialists (ODS)
• Perform internal quality audits to ensure accuracy and reliability of cancer registry data
• Assign specific case work to team members based on VISN/VAMC requirements
• Track team performance and progress using Jira to meet PWS timelines
• Serve as the primary point of contact for team members to resolve technical or procedural issues

What is Required (Qualifications):

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS); 5+ years preferred
• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Must hold a current, valid Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) credential from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
• Expert-level knowledge of CoC data standards, AJCC staging protocols, and SEER standards
• Ability to adhere to Federal security and privacy laws and NCRA Code of Ethics

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience working within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system
• Familiarity with VA-specific registry software and database systems
• Working knowledge of Jira for task management and project tracking
