Responsibilities- As part of the Design System team, you will define and refine product components, create and maintain detailed specifications, and champion consistent user interactions and flows. You will conduct discovery and usability research to ensure our design system continuously evolves in response to real world needs. You will also collaborate on component requirements, wireframe new ideas, and lead initiatives that streamline the user experience across multiple touchpoints.
- Own and evolve the design system library, including design tokens, components, patterns, and documentation across multiple products and platforms.
- Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to define component requirements, usage guidelines, and best practices that reinforce a cohesive user experience.
- Create and maintain detailed specs and documentation (e.g., interaction, animation, accessibility, responsive behavior) for all design system elements.
- Conduct competitive research and usability testing for design system components, iterating based on feedback to ensure quality, consistency, and user-centric solutions.
- Collaborate with product designers and engineers to integrate system components seamlessly into product teams’ workflows, gathering input for continuous improvement.
- Champion and evangelize the design system throughout the organization by offering strong communication, documentation, and support for adopting the system’s standards.
- Identify and address gaps in the current design system while anticipating and planning for future component needs to accommodate product expansion.
- Manage design system projects using established processes, tools, and communication channels (e.g., Jira, Confluence, GChat, Slack) to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Contribute to the overall design strategy, working closely with leadership to shape the long-term vision and roadmap of the design system.
- 2-3 years establishing or maintaining a robust component library in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and experience with DS platforms such as Super Nova, Storybook, or Zero Height.
- Understanding of accessibility best practices (e.g., WCAG) and how they integrate into system-level patterns.
- Demonstrated expertise in native mobile app and responsive design, ensuring seamless user experiences across all devices and platforms.
- Knowledge of or formal training in AI technology, including designing AI-driven interfaces and applying AI interaction best practices.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on design tokens, ensuring alignment between design and code.
- Proven track record of documenting design guidelines, usage instructions, and component standards for cross-functional teams.
- An eye for modern, clean design that balances aesthetic appeal with functionality, ensuring a user-centered approach to both visuals and interactions.
- Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in User Experience, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience collaborating on or maintaining a design system in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Effective use of agile tools like Jira and Confluence to manage project workflows and component updates.
- Background in designing or supporting complex B2B or HR software solutions.
