Senior Research Engineer

• Base salary range of $160,000 - $299,000, depending on level and experience

• Collaborate with applied researchers to design, implement, and test next‑generation reinforcement learning and post‑training algorithms
• Advance open‑source initiatives by developing NeMo‑RL, Megatron Core, and NeMo Framework
• Solve large‑scale AI training and inference challenges across the entire model lifecycle
• Perform performance tuning and optimizations for model training on NVIDIA GPU architectures
• Engage in publishing and presenting results at relevant conferences

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Applied Math, or related fields, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in machine learning, systems, distributed computing, or large‑scale model training
• Experience with AI frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX
• Familiarity with inference and deployment environments like vLLM, SGLang, or TRT‑LLM
• Proficiency in Python programming, including software design, debugging, and performance analysis

• Contributions to open‑source deep learning libraries
• Hands‑on experience in large‑scale AI training and performance analysis
• Expertise in distributed computing, model parallelism, and mixed precision training
• Prior experience with Generative AI techniques applied to large language models and multi‑modal learning
• Knowledge of GPU/CPU architecture and related numerical software
