The Senior SRE – Azure Specialist will design and implement automation, CI/CD tooling, and resilient infrastructure for Syniti’s Azure-hosted environments. This role will support Northstar’s global compliance and scalability objectives including Cyber Essentials+ and Sec Num Cloud adherence. The engineer will also collaborate with development, infosec, and compliance teams to enforce Zero Trust patterns and observability across all layers of the stack.
WhatIt Takes
- Design and build automated Azure infrastructure for Syniti-hosted SaaS workloads.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and Git Ops workflows.
- Automate monitoring, patching, backup, and DR operations using Azure-native tooling.
- Integrate observability frameworks and enforce logging of user and security events.
- Collaborate with SRE and security teams to meet Cyber Essentials+ and Sec Num Cloud control objectives.
- Provide L3 incident response and lead root cause analysis efforts in Azure-hosted environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a global team.
- Ability to work with stakeholders across development, compliance, and infrastructure teams.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operations as code principles.
- 10+ years of experience in SRE, Dev Ops, or Cloud Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Azure including AKS, Storage, Monitor, and IAM.
- 3+ years of experience in Terraform module development in support of Azure deployments
- 3+ years in CI/CD tooling (Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, ArgoCD).
- Experience in scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, Bash).
- Experience implementing regional compliance controls
- Understanding of Zero Trust principles, service identity, and workload isolation.
