• Ensure the accurate and timely completion of hospital and home health claims billing
• Pursue collection of claims until payment is made by insurance carriers
• Resolve billing issues by acting as a liaison between patients, departmental staff, and insurance carriers
• Assist with special projects as required
• Review and resolve payment variances according to policy

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of online duty-specific training within 90 days of job start date
• Minimum of two years of facility billing experience desired
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and basic office equipment
• Basic knowledge of HIPAA and California State Confidentiality laws impacting medical information release

• Understanding of governmental agencies, commercial insurances, and state & county compliance guidelines regarding billing
• Knowledge of Knox-Keene, ERISA, and California State laws affecting the billing process
• Superior customer service skills, including oral, written, and listening abilities
