Join Our Team as a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) in Orthopedic Surgery - Coos Bay, OR
Are you a dedicated Physician Assistant with a passion for orthopedic care? We are seeking a highly skilled Locum PA to support our orthopedic surgical teams in Coos Bay, Oregon. Required Skills:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in Oregon
- Proven experience in orthopedic surgery or related specialties
- Proficiency in performing diagnostic studies such as EMG, X-ray, MRI, CT, and bone scans
- Skilled in procedures including digital blocks, regional anesthesia, wound management, joint aspirations, reductions, injections, and casting/splinting
- Ability to assist in surgical procedures, including tissue closures and hardware removal
- Strong knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Excellent clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Capable of managing stressful or emergent situations efficiently
Skills:
- Experience in outpatient and inpatient orthopedic care
- Familiarity with hospital-based emergency department protocols
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Bilingual skills or additional languages
Education and Experience:
- Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Prior experience in orthopedic surgical settings
- At least 2 years of professional practice in a hospital or outpatient environment
- Valid Oregon PA license; CPR and ACLS certification
- Ability to participate in call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to travel within hospital facilities as needed
- Flexible schedule with availability for days, 4x10 or 5x8 shifts
