As a Senior Manager, Treasury Capital Markets, you will work as a strategic partner within the Treasury team and interact directly with banking partners, lenders, investors, fintechs, capital markets counter parties, and key functional leaders within Wealthsimple to support Treasury initiatives and broader product launches. As a trusted advisor, you will provide advice and collaborate with leaders in product, operations, trading, finance, legal, regulatory & compliance to find creative solutions to complex problems.

- Lead strategic negotiations with banks, fintechs, and capital markets counter parties to support both Treasury initiatives and Wealthsimple's product ecosystem
- Build and scale strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, and capital markets players to unlock new product capabilities and accelerate growth
- Oversee Wealthsimple’s Treasury investment portfolio to propose investment plan, execute strategy, monitor and optimize portfolio performance on an on-going basis
- Identify and manage Wealthsimple’s corporate foreign currency, interest rate, and equity exposure
- Propose and implement hedging strategies and work with the controller team to ensure proper accounting treatment
- Maintain and enhance Investment Policy and Market Risk Management Policy
- Drive negotiations with banks, fintechs, and other financial partners in order to expand and stand up new relationships to engage in partnerships to support Wealthsimple products
- Responsible for deposit capacity management and seek ongoing opportunities beyond the industry status quo
- Leverage your professional network to create strategic alliances that give Wealthsimple a competitive edge
- Partner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders like Product, Engineering, Regulatory and Legal teams to enable seamless product launches
- Build best-in-class capital markets capabilities to enable product offering that delight Wealtsimple’s clients
- 8+ years of Treasury and Capital Markets experience with direct external counter parties negotiation and engagement
- Exceptional relationship-building and management skills—you know how to open doors, build trust, and turn conversations into partnerships
- Demonstrated success launching new products and/or capabilities from scratch in fast-paced settings, especially with an external partner
- Prior experience in Canada and US liquidity regulations (LAR, LCR and internal liquidity stress testing), bank’s FTP, and negotiating ISDA’s would be a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of capital markets products and transactions with the ability to structure creative solutions for complex problems
- Deep understanding of Treasury investment portfolio management, foreign currency, interest rate, equity market risk management
- A passion for technology, specifically fintech
- Outstanding communication skills—you can translate complex Treasury/financial concepts into clear narratives for a non-Treasury audience
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and building as you go
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and bias for action
Base salary range:
