Job Description:

We are seeking an Engineer-Level 1 - Associate Planning Engineer to undertake engineering assignments of varying scope and complexity. The role involves assisting with project management, performance tracking, and reporting, with a focus on utility‑scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations. You will engage in decision‑making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight, ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long‑term performance goals.

Responsibilities
  • Collect engineering drawings and technical datasheets from internal and external sources for modeling and studies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, specifications, and equipment data to support project documentation.
  • Track the status of ongoing studies performed internally and by external consultants, providing required information or data inputs to ensure studies progress smoothly and on schedule.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing basic power flow, voltage, and stability studies under supervision.
  • Learn and apply industry‑standard software tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and PSLF.
  • Support the creation and validation of models for solar, wind, and battery projects.
  • Assist in monitoring interconnection requirements and documenting impacts for internal use.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Prepare draft reports, presentations, and communications for review by senior staff.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Interest in power systems, renewable energy, and transmission planning.
  • Willingness to learn power system analysis tools and modeling techniques.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • 0‑5 years of experience in engineering studies and analysis applying engineering‑related disciplines.
  • Experience with modeling, technical studies, and compliance activities using industry‑standard tools.
Work Environment

This position will support engineering activities for renewable and transmission projects within the Engineering and Construction department. The primary work location is onsite at Juno Beach, FL, although remote candidates will be considered. The role entails working in a corporate environment, supporting the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from wind and sun, and contributing to battery storage projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Remote, OR.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
