We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment.
Commitment is on a course by course basis.
NR507 - Advanced Pathophysiology
In this course, the student encounters advanced content in pathophysiology and human physiologic responses across the lifespan. The student explores, analyzes, applies and evaluates the normal and abnormal human responses to selected pathophysiologic mechanisms and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials.
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and the weight distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provides timely feedback to students.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- MSN and DNP (or PhD in nursing) or MD/Pharm
D are required. - Must be board certified by ANCC or AACN as ACNP or AGACNP or AGPCNP or FNP or ADULT NP (additional NP certification highly preferred).
- Must have an active unencumbered RN nursing license (compact/multi-state licensure required).
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience is required; preferably at the graduate level.
- Online teaching experience highly preferred.
- Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
- Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
- Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Web Ex/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet.
Additional Information
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
