Role OverviewThe Vice President, Health System Experience is the senior executive responsible for shaping, elevating, and expanding Shields’ strategic relationships within designated health system partner accounts. This role serves as the executive face of Shields to key partners and is accountable for delivering a world‑class partner experience, ensuring operational and contractual excellence, and driving long‑term strategic growth.
The VP will collaborate closely with Regional Leadership and cross‑functional teams to align enterprise priorities, translate partner needs into actionable strategies, and ensure Shields is positioned as a trusted advisor to health system executives.
Core Responsibilities Executive Relationship Leadership & Influence- Build and maintain high‑trust relationships with senior health system leaders—from VP‑level stakeholders to C‑suite executives, including CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CPOs, and clinical leadership.
- Serve as the executive spokesperson for the Shields partnership
, communicating organizational vision, performance, strategy, and outcomes with precision, clarity, and confidence. - Demonstrate exceptional executive presence and communication skills, ensuring complex issues are translated into crisp, compelling narratives that influence decision‑making at the highest levels.
- Lead quarterly and ad‑hoc executive business reviews, articulating partnership value, operational performance, risk mitigation strategies, and opportunities for expansion.
- Develop and execute comprehensive account plans that drive partner satisfaction, operational excellence, and long‑term relationship health.
- Proactively identify risks or emerging issues and communicate them to executive stakeholders alongside clear, actionable resolutions.
- Partner with Regional Operations, Clinical, Strategic Operations, Finance, Operations Innovation and Business Development leaders to coordinate strategic priorities and deliver an integrated partner experience.
- Ensure internal teams receive timely, clear communication that reflects partner priorities, executive expectations, and emerging opportunities.
- Translate partner insights into strategic business recommendations that inform Shields’ product development, service enhancements, and broader organizational strategy.
- Cultivate executive champions at each partner health system to drive advocacy, referenceability, and downstream Business Development success.
- Identify and articulate strategic expansion opportunities—cross‑sell, upsell, and new service adoption—grounded in partner goals and market trends.
- Use executive storytelling, data‑driven insights, and market intelligence to position Shields as an indispensable strategic partner.
- Use Salesforce and other enterprise systems to document engagement, account health, risks, opportunities, and executive interactions.
- Develop and deliver high‑quality executive communications—including dashboards, business reviews, executive summaries, and strategic briefs.
- Provide internal leadership with ongoing visibility into partner performance, strategic risks, and alignment against shared goals.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of executive‑level engagement experience with health systems or hospitals, ideally in Strategic Accounts, Consulting, Enterprise Partnerships or Business Development
- Proven success influencing and presenting to C‑suite executives (CEO, CFO, COO, CMO, CPO), including the ability to simplify complexity into compelling insights.
- Exceptional oral and written executive communication skills—including executive briefing, negotiation, storytelling, and strategic framing.
- Demonstrated experience operating in a matrixed organization
