What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Monitor and track federal and state laws impacting the employer's operations, preparing communications for affected business areas
  • Provide cross-functional support in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance
  • Secure and maintain required operational licenses
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for compliance tracking and reporting
  • Train and mentor new team members in the Compliance Department
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a managed care setting with knowledge of laws impacting workers’ compensation, auto, and/or commercial health insurers
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; JD or paralegal experience is a plus
  • Expertise in regulations related to utilization management, claims, and network management
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel and Power Point
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in regulatory affairs and operations of HMOs or managed care organizations
  • Advanced legal research skills
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal guidelines governing managed health care
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment in decision-making
