Overview
Title: Leasing Agent
Job Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Property Manager

Purpose: Assist the Property Manager with leasing apartments as well as helping current residents have a positive experience living at the property. Continually maintain a competitive occupancy for the community in the marketplace.
Leasing Agent– Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide residents and applicants with exceptional customer service and foster good resident relations.
- Be a valuable part of an effective on-site team.
- Meet and greet residents in person and on the telephone.
- Show and lease apartments and follow up with prospects.
- Follow up with prospects in Knock keeping a consistent engagement score of 85% or higher.
- Process applications and other necessary paperwork to lease or renew resident leases.
- Process paperwork required to determine household eligibility for affordable housing programs.
- Assist residents with questions and record maintenance service requests.
- Perform community inspections as directed by Property Manager.
- Assist with marketing outreach program.
- Attend regularly held training.
- Participate with resident activities/programs such as National Night Out.
- Polish up leasing model, vacant apartments and the tour route.
- Operate all office machines, printer, computer, etc.
- Handle mail, prepare notes, letters, and documents; receive and distribute packages.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous leasing or related sales experience preferred.
- Previous affordable housing experience with Section 8, LITHC and Tax Credit preferred.
- Must attend compliance training both at corporate office and additional training provided by an outside vendor. If located in another state training could be provided via teams.
- Ability to perform essential duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task/meet deadlines.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Yardi and Knock experience desired.
- Maintain professional office environment and treat fellow coworkers and residents with respect.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and the ability to apply them in your daily interactions with residents, applicants and prospects.
- Consistently follow, enforce and support REE screening criteria as required by the Fair Housing Laws and REE.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to twist, turn, bend, stoop and walk up and down stairs as necessary.
