Phlebotomy Technician – Coon Rapids, MN
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Pay range: $23.00 - $28.00 / hour

- Collect blood and/or perform POC as assigned.
- Clean and re‑stock POC supplies and prepare phlebotomy carts/trays.
- Assist coworkers with draws and POC testing.
- Draw venous or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric patients using proper aseptic collection techniques.
- Draw and deliver all blood work (stat, timed, routine) within established departmental time frames.
- Draw venous and capillary blood into proper tubes and culture vials according to test purpose.
- Perform and process all POC tests on patients ranging from newborn to geriatrics.
- Complete clerical functions associated with POC testing documents.
- Report incidents/issues regarding patients or employees in a timely manner to group leader or supervisor.
- Report supply needs and equipment defects promptly.
- Log refrigerator temperatures daily and report any deviations.
- Travel to health fair and PSA testing sites as needed; deliver specimens to laboratory.
- Identify patient needs and modify care accordingly, communicating with patients, parents, and primary caregivers at their level of communication.
- Adhere to clinic organizational competencies and standards.
Education & Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training.
- Preferred phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Physical Requirements:
- Lift light to moderately heavy objects (up to 40 lbs); objects over 41 lbs require assistance.
- Stand or sit for long periods; require good eye and hand coordination.
- Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand continuously throughout the day.
- Travel required.
- Extensive use of phone and PC.
- Fine dexterity with hands and steadiness.
- Good oral, walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting skills.
