River Trail Learning Center, serving students in grades K‑12 with specialized programming, including a variety of Level IV services, for the communities of Anoka‑Hennepin.

SUMMARYThe Principal is the instructional leader of River Trail Learning Center, responsible for collaborating with building and District staff to implement curriculum and specialized instructional programs that support learning opportunities for all students. This role involves monitoring and supervising instruction; supporting teachers in improving their instructional practice within an alternative and special education setting; creating a community of continuous learning for all staff and students;
and fostering a culture of high expectations and therapeutic support.
The Principal must support the District's vision of supporting all students K‑12 with unique needs. In addition, the principal is charged with building strong partnerships with families and community agencies, creating a safe, trauma‑informed, and supportive school climate, and effectively managing operational, technical, and staff issues to promote student progress and behavioral success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSLicense:
Requires a current MN K‑12 Principal License AND a K‑12 Director of Special Education License.
A minimum of three to five years of K‑12 educational leadership experience (including a minimum of two years in a school‑based administrator position preferred), with demonstrated results in improving academic performance and supporting the social‑emotional, functional, and adaptive needs of students.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and crisis‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents/guardians, and community partners.
- Successful experience in working with diverse populations and students with unique learning or behavioral needs.
- Successful experience in facilitating educational change and implementing trauma‑informed practices.
$145,475 and up, DOQ, plus an excellent flex benefits package. View additional terms and benefits here.
