Material Handler

As a Material Handler you will be responsible for loading, unloading, processing->$and storing hazardous and nonhazardous waste materials at a permitted waste treatment facility with supervision.

• Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practices
• Loads, unloads, and processes solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations
• Operates a forklift and Bobcat with attachments
• Directs liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storage
• Performs basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed
• Performs chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issues
• Utilizes barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activities
• Reviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials
• Uses Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). to match and label inbound materials for storage and shipping of containers to other sites
• Utilizes proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks
• Operates a hydraulic baler for cardboard and other materials
• Maintains operating areas, walls, pipes, and floors in a clean and safe condition
• Utilizes Arcwood coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers
• Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection, and a respirator
