TES Group is a leading provider of engineering solutions to the water and wastewater industry. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated mechanical design engineer to join our team in Cookstown.
The RoleAs a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of mechanical elements within water and wastewater treatment projects. You will work alongside process, electrical, and ICA engineers to produce high‑quality design packages in line with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Mechanical design of water/wastewater projects in line with client specifications
- Production of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&’s) using Plant 3D
- Production and coordination of 3D models using Revit
- Production of general arrangement drawings, sections & elevations
- Production of pump calculations, equipment schedules, technical specifications
- Production of fabrication detail drawings for site installations
- Liaise with suppliers and sub‑contractors to obtain quotations for equipment
- Preparation of technical design submissions for client review
- Attend regular project design and site meetings
- Liaise with process engineers, electrical engineers and ICA engineers on projects
- Comply with all ISO Quality & Environmental policies and procedures, and all health and safety rules
- Enjoy the full life cycle of a project from initial specification to commissioning
- Mechanical engineering qualification (HNC/HND or similar)
- 4+ years’ experience in a similar mechanical design role
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary design team
- Experience using 3D Modelling software (Revit, Inventor, Solid Works, etc.)
- Experience of fabrication design
- Innovative approach to work
- Experience using AEC software such as Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks
- Previous experience of multidisciplinary projects within the Mechanical/Electrical Engineering sector of the water industry
- Capability of contributing to the commercial management of M&E works, including work estimates
- Knowledge of ISO
19650 BIM standards
