The Department of Radiation Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a board eligible or board-certified radiation oncologist to join our department’s facility at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Basic requirements for this position include graduation from an accredited MD or DO program and completion of an ACGME-certified residency program. Successful candidates should have excellent clinical skills with an interest in participation in community outreach and continue to build a strong referral base.

Administrative experience and a strong track record in practice building are strongly desired for appropriate candidates.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is an integral member of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, which is among the nation’s top providers of specialty care. VUMC was number 20 in the most recent U.S. News and World Report magazine rankings. VUMC provides clinical services for both radiation and medical oncology at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The oncology clinic has onsite nutritional and social work support as well as other hospital-based services.

The radiation clinic provides state-of-the-art radiation treatments with three linear accelerators and a recently upgraded CT simulator.

Cookeville is the county seat and largest city of Putnam County, Tennessee. It is a rapidly growing city with a large variety of activities with great quality of life.
