Rogers Group is seeking candidates for Asphalt
-Skilled Labor for our Construction team in Cookeville, TN / Upper Cumberland locations. We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.

Job Responsibilities

* • Assist asphalt paving crews with raking, shoveling, luting, and hand-finishing asphalt

* • Support screed operations to ensure proper mat depth, joints, and overall pavement quality

* • Load, unload, and distribute asphalt materials, tools, and equipment

* • Work safely around paving equipment including pavers, rollers, skid steers, and haul trucks

* • Assist with traffic control, site preparation, and daily cleanup activities

* • Follow all Rogers Group safety policies, OSHA regulations, and job-site requirements

* • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to support efficient operations

* • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment

* • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extended hours as required during paving season

Qualifications:

* • Previous asphalt paving or road construction experience preferred

* • Knowledge of hand-finishing techniques and basic paving operations

* • Ability to safely use hand tools and small construction equipment

* • Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

* • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team

* • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and variable schedules as needed including nights

* • Ability to perform physically demanding work

* • Valid driver's license

* • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with Rogers Group safety standards

* • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting

* • Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and outdoor elements

* • Working in close proximity to heavy equipment and active roadways
