About the RoleThe Regional Business Development Specialist – East Region plays a key role in expanding brand awareness, strengthening distributor relationships, and driving sales growth across the Eastern U.S.
This role is ideal for a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys supporting independent reps, identifying new business opportunities, and acting as a brand ambassador in the field. You’ll work closely with distributors, attend industry events, manage incoming leads, and help ensure E Com Seating and Blue Ridge Ergonomics remain top-of-mind in a competitive market.
This is a hybrid role. Our office is in Cookeville, TN.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Support- Support and energize independent sales reps and distributors through regular communication, coaching, and field visits
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for distributor partners across the East Region
- Research and identify prospective dealer and distributor partners; secure and maintain key contact information
- Provide ongoing updates and support to field reps from major distributors such as Fisher Scientific, Thomas Scientific, Labrepco, and others
- Manage and follow up on quote requests received via phone, email, and distributor portals
- Maintain and update key tracking tools, including:
- Distributor Online Quote Request Sheet
- Internal E Com Seating Lead Spreadsheet>
- Communicate regularly with Fisher reps regarding New Lab Start-up Reports
- Follow up on leads generated from trade shows and end-user lists
- Attend and represent E Com Seating and Blue Ridge Ergonomics at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events
- Maintain and grow email marketing lists for customers and prospects
- Create and deliver sales presentations using slides and other tools
- Assist with distributor item ad forms and marketing collateral
- Minimum 2 years of experience in outside sales or business development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying collaborative and team-oriented
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Growth in brand presence and engagement among reps and distributors
- Weekly targets for new or nurtured industry contacts
- Active participation in industry trade shows and events
- Measurable sales growth within the assigned territory
