SUMMARY: An entry-level production role focused on material handling and maintaining the work environment. Key duties include loading and feeding materials into the machine or stacking/unitizing finished product; assisting with general labor and cleanup tasks; and complying with all safety and housekeeping rules in the work area. This role is a foundation for advancing up the machine crew progression.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Stages, prepares, lifts, and loads materials and other components required for the production process; may also utilize a computerized, mechanical, or automatic process to lift and/or load materials.
- Monitors and adjusts gauges, valves, switches, pumps, and other components according to production requirements; follows appropriate sampling and quality control techniques.
- Lifts and prepares items required for the filling, labeling, packaging, and transporting of products.
- Operates a variety of computerized, manual, and mechanical equipment to process, unload, label, pack, and store work-in-progress and finished goods.
- Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require the employee to wear safety equipment or gear.
- Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters data regarding materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and other operations to ensure records and actions are accurate.
- Assists with maintaining a clean and safe working environment and may perform various janitorial or housekeeping tasks.
- Communicates with maintenance, quality control, warehousing, and other departments to maintain a safe and effective environment and to ensure quality products.

High school diploma or GED.
Language SkillsExperience with in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
Mathematical SkillsAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMay be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Operating standards - the employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the employee.
