Responsibilities- Safely operate baler equipment to compress scrap corrugated material into high-quality bales.
- Inspect the baler and hogger, load scrap material, stack and tag bales for shipment, maintain bale reports, and operate a forklift safely.
- Operate forklift as part of duties (approximately 30% of time).
- Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high noise levels (hearing protection required), and varying temperatures (non-climate controlled). The environment is fast-paced and production-driven.
Education And/or Experience- General/Entry Level Positions: High school diploma or GED.
- Skilled Roles: 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g., Corrugated machine operators, maintenance, or logistics).
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
- Prior work experience as a forklift operator.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively in English
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsRequired to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
