Overview
Experienced Digital or Corrugated Machine Operator needed to manage digital printing solutions, including cutting, printing and assembly of samples for customer orders. Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating production machines including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations to meet customer demand.
Responsibilities- Work closely with Scheduler, Graphic Design and Structural Designers
- Work safely at all times, comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules and procedures; participate in Plant Safety Committee.
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Learn and comply with Pratt Industries quality procedures and policies; stop bad quality from leaving the facility to the customer; maintain strong attention to detail to prevent quality issues.
- Maximize equipment utilization by operating at available capacity and speed; improve setup times and reduce downtime; report mechanical concerns to Production Supervisor/Manager/Plant Mechanical Tech or Specialist
- Maintain clean and safe work areas; housekeeping of break rooms, bathrooms, etc.
- Understand machine capability and drive efficiencies while limiting waste and downtime; balance quality and speed
- Cross-train on other machines and learn other positions in the plant
- Complete reports accurately and timely (Production Data, Machine Oper Status, Safety Data, Quality Data)
- Submit maintenance work orders and participate in proactive maintenance
- Assist with shift duties as needed to support plant growth and personal/professional development
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping
- Adhere to production schedule and suggest improvements to meet cost, quality, and service goals; report scheduling issues
- Overtime may be required; 24x7 operations year-round
- Additional duties as assigned by management
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in Digital or Corrugated Industry
- Basic math proficiency including fractions and ability to read a tape measure
- Strong computer skills with file-to-print process
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters; able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy; able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate; able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning Ability and Physical DemandsReasoning:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
Standing/walking, use of hands, reaching, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds; vision requirements.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts; wet or humid conditions; occasional exposure to heights, fumes or airborne particles; loud noise level.
