Job Title
PET and CT Technologist –
RAYUS Radiology
RAYUS Radiology is seeking a part‑time PET/CT Technologist to operate our scanners and provide excellent patient service. This role is focused on diagnostic imaging, patient support, departmental quality, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities (90%) Patient PET/CT Imaging- Screen patients before exam for precautions or contraindications, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
- Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately for each body part.
- Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions of the body with minimal supervision or repeats, while providing patient support throughout.
- Adjust PET/CT scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate.
- Maintain positive attitude and working relationships with radiologist, referring customers, and peers.
- Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations to protect yourself, your patients, and coworkers.
- Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits for patients and coworkers.
- Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect equipment after each use.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
- Assess, prepare, record and administer radio pharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State regulations and departmental policies.
- Administer fluorodihydroxyglucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety‑related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and maintain a safe work environment as an integral part of patient care services.
- Report contamination to Radiation Safety Officer.
- Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
- Assist with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable.
- Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
- Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance of radiation standards of the department and Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or State Regulations.
Complete other tasks as assigned to support the department and imaging services.
Employment DetailsPart‑time, 32 hours per week; shifts vary Monday‑Saturday.
