Description

Assists in performing specific duties and activities for surgical patients of all age groups.

Reports to:

Surgical Clinical Manager. FLSA:
Non-exempt.

• Performs multiple departmental tasks that facilitate transportation of patients, positioning of patients, room readiness for first case starts, and turnover processes between surgical procedures.
• Assembles equipment and performs environmental sanitation within the operating room and immediate ancillary units.
• Scrubs to assist the surgeon with instrument passing, retracting, suturing, setting up equipment on the sterile field, maintaining the sterile field, assisting with draping, gowning, gloving, and counting.
• Retrieves specimens from the field and gives to the circulator. Verbally confirms specimen type and source with the surgeon.
• Provides direct patient care as assigned.
• Acts as a resource to other staff.
• Participates in departmental PI plan to include regulatory and professional standards compliance.
• Employee shall endeavor to provide a superior patient experience.

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program (Required)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
