Fleet Mechanic HGV and LGV

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established public sector organisation in their search for a Fleet Mechanic HGV and LGV to work in Colwyn Bay
.

• Pay: £16.37 per hour
• Hours of Work: 7am - 3pm and 10am - 6pm alternately, Monday to Friday
• Duration:
  Temporary (26 weeks)

The Fleet Mechanic HGV and LGV will support the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of motor vehicles including motor cars, minibuses, light goods vehicles and HGVs. They will attend breakdowns and repairs on a 24-hour shift and call‑out basis. Responsibilities include testing and inspection to prepare vehicles for MOT testing, carrying out periodic maintenance, and assessing accident damage to vehicles, plant and equipment, advising on suitable methods of repair.

This position requires strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to maintaining fleet safety and compliance.

• Post qualification experience in independent testing and inspection for roadworthiness and MOT on LGVs and HGVs (or equivalent experience)
• Class C or CE driving licence
• Level 3 qualification in Maintenance, Repair, Testing and Inspection of HGVs

• Level 4 NVQ Advanced Technician / Engineer in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics

• Alternating shift pattern
• 24-hour breakdown and call-out requirement
