We are helping a world leading producer of Amorphous Metal Ribbon identify a Ceramic Engineer to work on-site in Conway, SC. This person will support and advance their proprietary high speed melt and casting manufacturing processes.
Position Highlight- Full time Direct Hire role
- Title:
Ceramic Engineer - On call role with 24/7 availability expectations
- Highly visible subject matter expert position supporting manufacturing operations
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial production or industrial manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Hands on experience working with high temperature ceramics (not metallurgical or additive manufacturing focused)
- Experience using ceramic components in metal production, preferably metals manufacturing, mining, or refineries
- Strong understanding of ceramic alloy interactions in high temperature environments
- Experience writing and following operating procedures in highly regulated, ISO driven environments
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and technical computer based systems
- Ability to research processes and procedures independently as needed
- Detail oriented, self motivated, and effective in cross functional team environments
- Improve the performance of refractory ceramic components used in melt and casting processes
- Identify key drivers of melt/casting quality and implement refractory improvements
- Analyze process variability and eliminate special cause variation
- Lead optimization trials using statistical methods and key variable analysis
- Perform data driven analysis to improve product quality and process efficiency
- Research, propose, and implement changes to manufacturing processes and procedures
- Assist production engineers with day to day troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support seamless implementation of new operating conditions and procedures
- Partner closely with operations and production teams to drive safety, quality, and productivity
- Actively support manufacturing operations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for refractory and ceramic components
