Position Overview
Housing Custodian in University Housing.
Building/Grounds Specialist II (KA10//FTE-S01109P), full-time position with benefits.
Salary range: $23,718.00 (minimum) – $33,802.00 (midpoint). SC State Pay Band: 02.
Responsibilities- Cleans surfaces, floors, and inventory.
- Maintains refuse and recyclables.
- Participates in planned, preventive, and unexpected work.
- Maintains safe working environment, including responsible practices and risk mitigation.
- Maintains equipment and reports maintenance and supply needs.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum six months cleaning experience.
Preferred:
- Ability to collaborate within a team.
- Ability to mitigate risks and follow safety procedures.
- Multitasking, decision‑making, and maintaining working relationships.
- Knowledge of cleaning tools, equipment, products, and techniques.
- Ability to wear a variety of personal protective equipment, including footwear, gloves, mask, eye protection, and other.
- Strong written and oral communication with a variety of stakeholders.
- Learning, problem‑solving, and making safe decisions.
- Ability to utilize technology, software, and devices to manage and document work.
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
Normal work hours:
Monday to Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.;
Friday, 6:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the university.
