Position: Salesperson/Store Driver  Store 6617

Job Overview

Entry‑level sales position supporting the DIY business and achieving sales and service objectives. The role requires a strong knowledge of store systems, basic automotive and part knowledge, and the ability to source parts from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. The candidate will possess in‑depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes and may work part‑time or full‑time. Fleet safety certification is preferred.

Primary

Responsibilities – Salesperson
  • Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
  • Achieve personal sales goal and help the store achieve its sales goals
  • Provide DIY services, including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
  • Maintain store product and operational standards
  • Responsible for inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, back stock, etc.
Secondary Responsibilities – Salesperson
  • Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facings, dusting, parking lot
  • General stocking: truck stocking and back stock
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed
Success Factors – Salesperson
  • Basic driving and navigation ability
  • Ability to use delivery board system
  • Friendly communication skills
  • Ability to locate and stock parts
  • Safety knowledge and skills
  • Operating inventory systems and store equipment
  • Knowledge of parts and automotive systems

  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Prior Experience – Salesperson
  • 2–3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences

Physical Demands

The role requires predominantly walking or standing; talking, hearing, and using hands for handling or feeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, and moving up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Work is generally inside the store but occasionally outside, exposing employees to weather. Tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades may involve moving mechanical parts, high or precarious areas, chemicals, electrical shock, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.
