• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Understands and follows oral and written directions
• Experience in food service operation preferred

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Follows all state and federal regulations.
• Performs duties assigned by the manager, including but not limited to: working in extreme temperatures; standing for extended periods; lifting fifty pounds without assistance; and operating commercial food service equipment (convection ovens, fryers, mixers, braising pans, steamers, food processors and dish machines).
• Performs cleaning duties of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment as assigned, including handling various household and industrial chemicals such as chlorine bleach, grease cutter, and/or oven cleaners.
• Prepares food items and determines appropriate quantities; adjusts and extends recipes as needed; maintains food quality standards (appearance and nutritional requirements).
• Prepares and serves food in accordance with health and sanitation standards and continuously monitors temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
• Stores unused food and supplies, disposes of leftovers, and handles foods to be stored properly.
• Records amounts of foods cooked and leftovers and any money collected; assists with inventory and maintains routine records as directed.
• Collects money and maintains accurate records, as assigned.
• Cooperates in activities necessary for the best functioning of the school food service program.
• Observes safety rules and reports accidents according to District policy.
• Takes proper care of equipment and facilities.
• Maintains desirable health and work habits and adheres to acceptable standards of work, conduct, and dress code.
• Maintains an attitude of helpfulness toward fellow employees, students, and staff.
• Cooperates fully with faculty, students, manager, and other employees.
• Participates in inservice training programs as provided by the District and/or State.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Food Service Manager

The contract length will be 178 days.

Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the food service manager who is assisted by the food service supervisor in regard to evaluations.

The Food Service Worker will endeavor to work cooperatively in maintaining the food service program at the school level in an efficient and effective manner to meet the nutritional needs and program acceptability of students and staff in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
