Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Full-time Day Shift Opportunity at Conway Behavioral Health Hospital, near Little Rock, Arkansas. The facility treats adults and adolescents with a variety of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and co-occurring addiction. Our goal is to provide access to world-class mental health treatment with dignity and respect for the North Metro community.
Responsibilities- Monitor patient health and administer basic care utilizing the nursing process within the LPN/LVN scope of practice and in alignment with care plan objectives.
- Model professional expectations for customer service and demonstrate urgency related to patient safety.
- Collaborate with others to meet patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs; acknowledge and address customer concerns when needs are not met.
- Provide for the basic comfort of patients and implement nursing interventions identified in the plan of care tailored to individual needs.
- Apply appropriate interventions to progress toward wellness and maintain wellness.
- Discuss care with patients, listen to concerns, report status changes to registered nurses and doctors.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in treatment.
- Provide for safe delivery of medications in accordance with policies, procedures, and orders.
- Maintain standards of professional nursing practice per facility policies and external governing/credentialing bodies and performance improvement standards.
- Ensure thorough, accurate reporting and documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress.
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- One or more years of nursing experience in the clinical area of service provided by the facility preferred.
- Current LPN/LVN license as required by state.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
- First aid may be required based on state or facility.
