Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1:1 Male

Location

Conway, AR

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Starting Pay

$12.00 per hour (negotiable based on education and experience)

Responsibilities
  • Support individuals in developing essential life skills, from health and hygiene to independent living tasks.
  • Foster a positive and respectful environment at home and in the community.
  • Assist with daily routines as outlined in the Medicaid Waiver Person-Centered Service Plan.
  • Help individuals engage with their community through activities like shopping, social events, appointments, and more.
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation using your personal vehicle (must meet AR state insurance requirements).
  • Maintain records of consumer expenses and document progress.
  • Offer valuable input during annual service planning meetings.
  • Complete required training, including CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and in-service sessions.
  • Submit weekly documentation and timesheets on time.
Qualifications
  • Age Requirement: 18 years or older.
  • Education & Experience:

    High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant experience in public health, human services, or a community service agency. Alternatively, two years of verifiable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities may qualify.
  • Driver's License & Insurance:
    Valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • Background Check & Drug Screening:
    Required for all candidates.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Ability to effectively interact with individuals and understand written instructions.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and kneel as needed.
  • Lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly, 50 lbs frequently, and 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Drive in various weather conditions to transport individuals safely.
Work Environment

You'll be working in a dynamic group home setting and traveling within the community. The noise level is moderate, and reasonable accommodations can be made to support individuals with disabilities.
