The Student Workers for Academic Advising provide polite quality service to all individuals including students, staff, faculty and guests.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Come to work with an engaging and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills and customer service skills, especially over the phone
- Serve as a frontline resource for Academic Advising and Bernard Hall
- Support office initiatives; to include event promotion and program support
- Communicate, and uphold, policies and procedures
- Perform opening and closing duties of physical office (turn on lights and tv, log into website, etc.)
- Fulfill office functions: answer phones, respond to emails, distribute mail, tidy office space
- Organize copy room, data entry, copying and filing
- Follow directions and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Maintain work/attendance records
- Other duties as assigned
The student hired for this position will start on April 16th for 10 hours/week. Starting May 1st, the position will be 32 to 36 hours/week throughout the summer with the potential to continue employment through the Fall. We prefer to have a student that will not be graduating soon. Preferred candidates will be students with at least one semester of attendance to the nature of the summer programming, students will not be able to register for in‑person classes during summer sessions and will be required to be available between the hours of 7:30‑4:30 Monday‑Thursday.
