Summary
The Residence Coordinator (RC) is responsible for providing leadership and supervision in one University residence hall housing 200–300 residents. Residence Life Coordinators oversee the daily operation of University residential facilities; report directly to the Associate Director of the area and serve as an active and visible Residence Life staff member; participate in student development, community development, and leadership development; assist in the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of resident assistants and student leaders;
participate in facility management, marketing, student conduct, and assessment; take part in a comprehensive training and in-service program; contribute to a positive, team‑oriented, energetic, and flexible work atmosphere; understand and support the goals, values, purpose, and mission of the department; serve as student conduct hearing officer; advise Resident Housing Association (RHA) or National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) student leadership organizations;
serve in an on‑call departmental duty rotation and on committees as assigned; provide partially‑furnished apartment and partial meal plan; teach leadership course to new student staff members; participate in department‑wide events including preview days and move‑in/out; assist with Summer Housing and/or Summer Conferences; perform other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree; experience in housing/residence life as student or full‑time employee.
PreferredEducation and/or Experience
Experience with campus housing occupancy management software; leadership on committees or similar work groups; experience hosting student events and/or conferences; other relevant student leadership experience as a student or full‑time employee.
RemunerationThe compensation package includes an annual salary of $35,568 and University benefits which include a comprehensive health plan, life insurance, TIAA‑CREF or Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System, and paid leave. Campus housing with internet and utilities provided as a condition of employment. Tuition remission available (more information).
