POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Ground Hand at LJA Telecom
, you will be responsible for following strict safety procedures while performing physical labor on construction sites, including site preparation, material handling, vehicle inspections, equipment loading, and supporting the crew foreman.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
  • Following all safety requirements and using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures in performing duties
  • Perform various manual tasks on construction and/or other sites, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled workers, often involving physical labor and the use of basic tools and equipment
  • Daily vehicle inspections – check fluids and lights
  • Maintain cleanliness of the crew’s assigned company vehicle
  • Load all necessary tools, equipment, and materials needed for the crew’s job assignments
  • Complete all task assigned by the crew’s foreman
  • Stay engaged and on task to increase your knowledge in your line of work (Aerial, Bore, Underground)
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • High school or GED
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Following all safety requirements and using appropriate safety equipment and safety procedures in performing duties
  • Perform various manual tasks on construction and/or other sites, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting skilled workers, often involving physical labor and the use of basic tools and equipment
  • Daily vehicle inspections – check fluids and lights
  • Maintain cleanliness of the crew’s assigned company vehicle
  • Load all necessary tools, equipment, and resources needed for the crew’s job assignments
  • Complete all tasks assigned by the crew’s foreman
  • Stay engaged and on task to increase your knowledge in your line of work (Aerial, Bore, Underground)
  • Must be able to bend, climb, and squat to perform job duties in the field.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Must have sufficient hand and finger dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to detect odors and fumes as necessary for safe work performance
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and work outdoors for extended periods in various conditions.
  • Must have adequate hearing and vision to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Must be 21 years or older to be considered for this position
  • Must be willing and able to travel for project sites and team coordination
