Disassemble and inspect hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves. Repair pumps, valves, motors, and cylinders as related to our business, per customer request. Test and inspect hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, etc. Troubleshoot mobile and industrial equipment and systems.

- Make hydraulic hoses.
- Test and inspect hydraulic pumps, valves, motors and cylinders, etc.
A successful applicant for this position will be highly dependable, able to follow instruction closely, and have the ability to do some heavy lifting as needed. Hand tool experience, including complete tool box, is required. Prior experience is a must. 5 years minimum. Your own basic tools are required. This is a fast paced environment where hard work and focus are important.

At AH Beck, we are looking for an individual for the position of Hydraulic Technician. Working individually and, at times, in a team, the right individual will have a strong mechanical aptitude and background to disassemble and inspect, recommend process and parts to repair, enact these processes in a timely and efficient manner. We train and cross-train strong candidates in the field of hydraulic repair and assembly.
Responsibilitiesin Detail
- Disassemble and inspect hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors and valves
- Repair pumps, valves, motors and cylinders as related to our business, per customer request
- Test and inspect hydraulic pumps, valves and cylinders, etc.
- Troubleshoot mobile and industrial equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot basic electrical circuits as they pertain to hydraulic controls
- Read hydraulic schematics
- Skilled at field service customer interactions to maintain positive outcomes
- Conducts field service calls for various hydraulically-powered systems and machines for troubleshooting and repair
- Install hydraulic components onto in-house or onsite customer equipment
- Use measuring devices, calculators and myriad hand tools, torque tools and various other tools to service equipment
- Perform onsite maintenance and repair to customers equipment
- Professionally interact with customers to determine service issues
- Provides technical support, as necessary, to all departments and customers
- Work dutifully with Service Writer and Shop Foreman to support the efficient and accurate quoting and billing of repair & service work
- Keep chronological records of service activity to include each service step, evaluation of system or component, parts request and installation, repairs, completions, and tests/certifications
- Attends various safety certification classes and seminars as required
- Shop maintenance including cleaning, organizing, trash removal, and securing valuables during non-working hours
- Must be able to work closely and cooperatively with management and other employees as directed
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Good at math with analytical abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy (up to 50lbs) items
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus
- Hydraulic repair experience
- Must be capable of learning (from text or written communications) and remembering the steps/tasks to achieve similar competent repairs in the future
