As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our freestanding Emergency Department, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well‑being and recovery.

• Assessment:
  Conduct admission and ongoing assessment of patients. Provide nursing care that meets physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. Notify physician of any changes that require attention.
• Planning:
  Design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care, including patient/family teaching and transition of care plans for safe, appropriate discharge. Work with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs. Formulate a plan and daily goals that consider individualized needs.
• Implementation:
  Prepare patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries, and diagnostic studies to reduce anxiety. Know patients’ conditions and report significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader or physician. Implement patient‑safety initiatives and protocols, including medication safety practices, physician orders, and consult notifications.
• Evaluation:
  Reassess patients at appropriate intervals following interventions. Notify physician as necessary to modify interventions. Adjust nursing care to meet patients’ emerging and changing needs.

  Give and receive bedside shift reports, including family participation. Provide accurate and comprehensive reports to the on‑coming shift to establish continuity of patient care.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least one (1) year of RN experience.
• Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire.
• Registered Nurse in Texas, to be licensed upon hire.
• Basic Life Support–CPR, American Heart Association, within 14 days.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months.

• Prior emergency room nursing experience.
• Ability to work independently.

The Woodlands Hospital, a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services, neurosciences, pediatric care (newborn and Level II nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Clinical affiliations include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Radiation Treatment Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.

$33.00 – $52.80 per hour
