Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Area Director, the Residential Services Director is responsible for ensuring the provision of quality and appropriate services to the consumers who receive residential services. The role promotes the agency mission to maximize the quality of life experiences for our consumers, inspires confidence in families, provides growth opportunities and economic stability for all Caregiver staff, and participates in shaping local, state, and national policies affecting people with disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure social services comply with standards set by regulatory organizations and manage a caseload of service recipients.
- Administer personnel including Direct Support Professionals, Home Coordinators, and family-based providers.
- Determine appropriate staffing levels and implement policies to maintain staff, assign coverage, minimize overtime, identify training needs, and ensure competency.
- Conduct time reviews and approvals; submit payroll correction forms.
- Supervise quality control, visit supported living homes and family-based providers, monitor compliance, follow up on medical issues, assessment recommendations, and Individual Support Plan implementation.
- Assist in crisis situations to prevent escalation.
- Prevent client abuse by adhering to policies, attending training, reporting suspicious behavior, and following mandatory reporting requirements. Ensure proper client sign‑in/out and control access.
- Provide monthly oversight of individuals’ finances, reconcile deposits and debits, and report signs of misappropriation or exploitation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field, or equivalent verifiable work experience.
- Preferred: minimum of 1 year of management experience in a multi‑site environment.
- Preferred: exposure to developmental disabilities environment.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Strong judgment, advisory, counseling, influencing, debating, negotiating, organizing, planning, and synthesis skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and make wise decisions under stress.
- Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills to improve employee development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and standard office equipment (PC, calculator, copier, fax machine, scanner).
