As our company continues to scale operations across North America, we are seeking an experienced FTZ Warehouse & Compliance Manager to lead daily Foreign Trade Zone operations and ensure full regulatory compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role is ideal for a hands-on warehouse leader with a working knowledge of FTZ requirements and a drive to continuously improve operational and regulatory performance.

You will be the site's point person for CBP compliance, FTZ audit readiness, and import/export execution - blending leadership, logistics, and regulatory command under one roof.

Responsibilities

  • Lead FTZ Warehouse Operations:
    Oversee all daily warehouse functions within the activated FTZ area - including receiving, putaway, storage, inventory accuracy, and outbound shipments
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance:
    Maintain strict compliance with CBP and FTZ Board regulations under 19 CFR Part 146. Monitor and enforce company SOPs related to bonded goods, restricted merchandise, and foreign status material
  • Serve as FTZ Subject Matter Expert:
    Act as the site authority on FTZ processes and documentation. Oversee FTZ recordkeeping, reporting, and audit readiness
  • Manage Documentation & Controls:
    Maintain FTZ activation maps, zone schedules, CBP permissions, and operational status updates with the FTZ Operator and Customs
  • Inventory Accuracy & Audit Management:
    Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits to comply with internal controls and CBP requirements
  • Cross-Border Logistics Coordination:
    Partner with Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and 3PL providers to ensure timely and compliant import/export movements
  • Develop Warehouse Staff:
    Train and lead warehouse personnel on FTZ protocols, compliance standards, and workplace safety practices
  • Drive KPI Improvement:
    Track warehouse and trade compliance KPIs. Recommend and implement operational or compliance-related improvements
  • Problem-Solve in Real Time:
    Proactively resolve inventory discrepancies, customs clearance issues, or shipment delays with minimal disruption
Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse operations experience, with at least 2 years in an FTZ, bonded facility, or import/export regulated environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FTZ regulations, CBP compliance, and international trade documentation
  • Experience conducting or supporting inventory audits, maintaining CBP records, and managing customs-related SOPs
  • Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and FTZ/trade compliance software
  • Strong leadership skills and a track record of training and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across logistics providers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); capable of preparing audit reports, inventory summaries, and compliance documentation
  • Preferred:
    Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
  • Bonus:
    Experience in steel, heavy manufacturing, or precision components environment
