POSITION OVERVIEW

- Perform procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, venous access, biopsies and lumbar punctures. Prior experience in performing these procedures is a plus but not required.
- Assist in direct patient care services, including inpatient and outpatient consults, and follow up.
- Assist in outpatient Interventional Radiology clinic and all duties necessary to support the clinic; perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries.
- Assist in facilitating patients for procedures, including pre‑authorizations, working with facilities to coordinate procedures as needed, processing orders, sending reports back to referring doctors.
- Perform or assist in fluoroscopic studies.
- Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies.
- Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes.
- Perform history and physical examinations and consents of radiology patients.
- Verbal and written communications with referring physicians, nurses, other health care professionals regarding patients to assist and facilitate the medical management of the patients.
- Educate patients regarding their procedures and care.
Schedule:
4 day work week, 2 weekend shifts per month. Provide onsite clinical coverage during assigned weekend shifts, including direct patient care, procedural support, and coordination with clinical teams.

DESIREDPROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
- Graduate of accredited program.
- At least one year Physician Assistant experience a plus but not required.
- Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
- Certified to perform Basic Life Support and ACLS.
