Certified Nurse Assistant (PRN)
Join HMG Healthcare and play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to patients in both acute and long‑term care settings. Your work will support patient comfort, safety, and dignity while collaborating closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Support patients with mobility needs, including transferring, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Provide nutritional support by assisting with feeding and ensuring patients receive proper hydration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status, concerns, and changes in condition.
- Assist with basic medical procedures under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Completion of an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant training program.
- Valid CNA certification/license as required by the state or local regulatory authority.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care techniques.
- Ability to pass background checks and health screenings including immunizations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Previous experience working as a CNA in a hospital, nursing home, or long‑term care facility.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Additional training in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation.
- Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.
Effective communication skills are essential for accurately reporting patient conditions and collaborating with healthcare team members. Physical stamina and dexterity are necessary to assist patients with mobility and perform routine care tasks safely. Familiarity with EHR systems and certifications such as CPR enhance the CNA’s ability to respond confidently to emergencies and provide higher levels of patient support.
