Position: Patient Care Assistant  (PCA) I

. This is the Night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) at Woodland Springs, part of Lifepoint Behavioral Health. Responsibilities
  • Observe and maintain a safe milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, and related duties. This includes conducting 15-minute checks, monitoring for contraband, evaluating changes in condition, and providing line-of-sight or one-on-one care as directed.
  • Assist with tasks delegated by the RN related to patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
  • Demonstrate effective milieu management skills to promote positive patient experiences.
  • Accompany patients to off-unit activities such as meals, outside breaks, off-unit visits, off-building activities, and appointments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital-owned vehicle.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
