Pay: $50 per regular visit

Reports To: Director of Nursing/Physical Therapist

Job Description: The Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care. This role offers significant flexibility for field staff, with opportunities to schedule visits in the Conroe, TX area.

• Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Direct and aid patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re‑education, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
• Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound, and massage.
• Observe and report patients’ reactions to treatment and any changes in condition to the physical therapist and organization personnel.
• Instruct patients in the use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
• Maintain necessary records, clinical notes, and conference notes, incorporated into the patient’s clinical record within prescribed time frames.
• Participate in organization Home Care Team Meetings and In‑service Education Program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an Associate’s degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current certification or license as required by state law.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with a fully insured automobile in good working order, meeting state or organization requirements.
