We are headquartered in Conroe, Texas and we operate a facility in Livermore, California.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for our Conroe, TX location. This position would report to the Director of Engineering and Product Management.

  • Manages and coordinates day-to-day engineering operations including task assignment, workload balancing, and delivery tracking.
  • Ensures engineering projects are executed in accordance with established technical standards and priorities.
  • Track schedules, risks, and dependencies; elevate issues appropriately.
  • Manages engineering capacity across disciplines and provides coaching.
  • Coordinates engineering execution with product management, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.
  • Ensures engineering deliverables align with product roadmaps and release plans defined by director.
  • Improves engineering processes and workflows.
  • Ensures design reviews, calculations, and validations are done and on time.
  • Provides new design ideas to stay ahead of the market and provides innovative new designs and concepts and supports execution and implementation as well as produces designs.
  • Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates.
  • Defines tools and standards for teams of mechanical engineers.
  • Tracks priorities and conducts performance reviews to ensure effective working processes.
  • Oversees mechanical engineers involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems.
  • Reviews and checks specifications on designs and drawings. .
  • Responsible for design projects of new products throughout project life cycle from concept planning to validation.
  • Coordinates with sustaining engineering and ensuring efficient transition from R&D to production series.
  • Responsible for supporting products during manufacturing and on the field.
  • Conducts product analysis and proposes new design ideas and design improvements.
  • Reviews engineering drawings, blueprints and bills of material for manufacturability of weldments and assemblies.
  • Reviews and approves design of junior engineers.
  • Analyzing problems and coming up with designs to solve them.
  • Working within budget to deliver safe and efficient products on time.
  • Supports design import and design integration.
  • Determines material substitutions in collaboration with engineering.
  • Assures product quality by implementing quality control points and quality plans during production processes.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by providing design input regarding weld, assembly sequences, fixtures, and procedures.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering support.
  • Provides design support during rig up stage of production.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Education and Training – Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or as deemed sufficient by management.
  • Technical Requirements – Strong design background. Strong mechanical engineering and design experience. Solid knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, and product development. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Strong organizational/ task tracking skills. Able to manage priorities for multiple assignments. Hydraulic and electrical knowledge. Able to manage resources.
  • Software – CAD software proficiency (CAD and SOLIDWORKS).
  • Experience:

    7+ years experience or as deemed sufficient by management. Field experience is preferred. Experience with drilling equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, sit, kneel, crawl, see, read, hear, have the physical and mental ability to travel independently and the physical and mental ability to comply with customary workshop, office, job site work environments, safety requirements and other customary regulations and requirements in these environments.
